Run Report. May 8, 2023.
Run No. 2220.
Venue: Shoal Point.
Hare: Golly.
We all gathered at the Chez Golly and shot the breeze for a few minutes as dark and cold engulfed the wilds of Shoal Point. Golly the Hare took us all out to the front gate and told us the usual; marked in chalk and lime, no torches required, a piss stop for all, and the run would be wheelchair accessible! What a crock!
We took off on what was probably the least marked run of the year; perhaps the inflation surrounding the country has led to the cost of lime and chalk being prohibitive. The result is that we all looked to Raggedy for guidance and may as well have appealed to your mother in law re your wife. She was somewhat less than helpful.
Anyway, the pack got hopelessly lost with one half short cutting on home, and the other half walking the streets, bush and beaches of Shoal Point. Finally in the park we found Golly with a very welcome piss stop.
Then on home to a few beers. The circle was called, the history lesson delivered, a down down for Golly, a few jokes, some charges for the visitors from Townsville and the usual bullshit followed by the Hash Song.
Then party pies, sausage rolls, beef stew, curried sausages and 5 varieties of Tim Tams in front of a roaring fire. A great evening!
