Run -2293
Hare – Pensioner & Mango
Venue – Annie Wood Park, Mt Pleasant
Hashers: 25
25 brave Hashers gathered in the gloomy twilight of Annie Wood Park in deepest Mt Pleasant, and watched as Flaps performed his magical light show and lit up the immediate area. As greetings were exchanged, the hare Pensioner stepped forward and briefed the crew on what would turn out to be the finest run ever held in the entire 76 year history of MkyH3. Plunging through the park we were greeted by the ghost of Annie Wood herself, who handed out ghostly refreshments that disappeared into smoke at the lightest touch….. on the group strolled before being accosted on the final bridge by a pair of hissing snakes, skilfully despatched by the hare. On the group went, into Norris Rd and up and over the rail bridge just in time to see The Hogworts Express glide silently by…. On on they pushed until arriving at the wake park. Mostly the group walked the perimeter, but 7 brave souls decided to swim across. Emerging at the carpark the group observed a luxurious Mercedes van, the door of which opened to allow the two tuxedo clad waiters to emerge, and begin dispensing Moet Champayne to the thirsty mob, before revealing another 4 luxury vans, all waiting to transport the hashers back to Annie Wood Park….. where magically tables laden with crisp white tablecloths, highly polished cutlery and sparkling glasses were arranged in a semi circle, the bar stewards being joined by a group of silver-service waiters, who skilfully served Hor Dourves of Oysters Kilpatrick, Fine Aged Eye-fillet Steaks topped with Lobster Mornay and the seasons finest Baby Truffles, followed by Strawberries Arnoud and Havana cigars.
Now then… all of the above would be true,
if in fact
it were not
a lie.
Imagine asking me to write my own run report! HoHo
In truth, in the circle, it was easily voted the best run ever, followed by howls of dismay when Blurry questioned the laying of a 2-way trail. More stuff happened, but that’s enough about the circle…. On to the tucker… big pots of curried snags and vegs. Enough of that too. More beer, and a couple of slices for dessert….
Then we all pissed off, leaving Annie Wood to drift off into the gloom….
See ya next week at Maple Syrup’s joint in Shoal point.
