A refreshing clear night we arrived to find Blurry’s two dogs at the gate. Blurry’s back in Mackay for the winter. Harbour had the fire going keeping everyone warm for the start of the run. We noticed Golly’s front wheel was chocked for the incline on the drive way for safety. We didn’t want the beer truck rolling away. When we came back a big orange witch’s hat was put on the tow ball. We’ve done our take 5.
Out on the front drive way Harbour gave us directions and that there was a piss stop.
Down towards the beach and along the front of the Caravan Park and around and around we found Mrs Appeal ready with the piss stop. Then trail went through a vacant land area and back out onto the street back home. Some checked out the tavern. Lassie and Insex were the last to come in. Tonto was getting a little concerned they didn’t come back with the drivers. Corn relish and salsa dips for appetizers to go with our beers and ciders was out ready and waiting.
Smut called the circle and gave a lesson on Australian history facts in 1918, the 1st World War about a mascot boy called Henry who was smuggled back to Australia in a hessian bag but died at the age of 18 in an accident.
Charges were called. SCB’s Zorro and Smut. Lassie and Insex for being in last. Snot for adopting Teddy. Blurry, Lassie and Tonto for returning runners.
Hashy birthday for Maple Syrup, and a 50 Run Award Cap for Harbour. Jokes were told and then Mrs Appeal brought out two pots of Satay Sausages and rice which was cleaned up with bread and butter. A marvelous chocolate topping slice for dessert. As the air cooled more, the closer we got to the fire. A top night with good company again.
Thanks to Harbour for a well marked run and Mrs Appeal for top nosh.
