Hashers – good roll-up!

A good rollup of old hashers turned up at Illawong beach for Corgy and Daffodil’s Monday night run. The wind was howling straight off the ocean as we headed off away from the beach and down the road towards the AFL grounds. Here we ran out of road and crossed the grass verge on to the next road…..but no….Corgy found the track heading into a newly mowed nice flat grass paddock, so off we went heading for the footy grounds. From here we headed back into the streets and found our way back to the ON ON.

The trail was well thought out and very well marked and I thoroughly enjoyed the walk. Back at the ON ON, we paid our dues and attacked the nibbles. The wind was howling but Daffodil had the problem covered. Ropes were tied top and bottom around the wind side of the shelter and a big tarp was strung up. Brilliant! The wind was held at bay and the circle commenced. The Monk brought the pack up to speed on Dish Lickers, with interesting information regarding greyhound racing.  The usual jokes, charges and information updates were completed and drinks for returning runners were dished out.

Miss Corgy set the Tucker up and everyone tucked in to a nice chicken and rice dinner.

More beers went down the gullet till it was time to pack up the wind break and head home. Well done Corgy and Daffodil, great job.

C u next week at the South Seas Islander meeting hut. Bring a chair!
