The pack assembled at the park in Erakala for this week’s run, with a great turnout of runners making the effort to attend. It was also pleasing to see Shocker’s kids along for the evening, adding to the family atmosphere.
Unfortunately, Shocker had already used nearly all of the chalk earlier that morning decorating the driveway, so the available markings for the trail had to be carefully rationed. Despite the chalk shortage, the trail was laid and the pack was sent off straight into one sizeable hill to get everyone’s attention before eventually finding their way to the much-anticipated piss stop and a refreshing brew.
The run featured a live hare section, giving runners the opportunity to chase down the hare and earn some bragging rights. However, with darkness approaching and several runners apparently well past their bedtime, not a single runner took up the challenge.
Following the run, the pack returned to Shocker’s place where the circle was called.
Charges
- Shocker was charged for being incredibly stingy with the chalk and for somehow managing to leave the hash piss behind.
- Snot and the other offenders who failed to make it to the piss stop were called into the circle and suitably charged for missing out on the golden elixir.
- Returning runners Gravel Rash, Juice and Termite were welcomed back with well-deserved Down Downs.
With justice dispensed, the circle concluded with a spirited rendition of the Mackay Hash Song.
The evening then moved seamlessly into dinner, with a hearty serving of spaghetti bolognese that proved particularly popular with Shocker’s kids. Dessert followed in the form of Tim Tams and Mint Slices, which were eagerly consumed by all.
Adding to the atmosphere, Corgie had the fire going after the pack arrived and kept it well stoked throughout the evening, ensuring everyone stayed warm while enjoying good company, plenty of laughs, and the usual hash camaraderie.
A great night’s hashing was had by all.
