Venue: Willetts Road Park North Mackay

We were all waiting for the rain and yes it started to spit on the way across the bridge and then stopped when we arrived. On the left before the bridge someone was bailing the grass for fodder I thought they better hurry up and get it in the shed. The ducks were being watched by a young family but luckily the ducks didn’t join us.
Flaps had his stove set up and Daffodil put up the light for the night thinking the rain wouldn’t start until later. Live Hare Screw set off towards Red Rooster along the walking path.
It was great to see Shizza from Airlie Beach and Paw Paw come for a run with us again.
Back along the main road to Mount P Tavern for a drink stop. Fork came out with a few jugs and they were quickly emptied. Daffodil & Tarzan were the last but they made it in for their drink. The pitter patter on the roof became heavier and yes it was a wet on home.
Nibbles were out organised by Flaps while the rain came down still. Cheerios with sticks were discovered and passed around before packing up to go back to Flaps place for the circle.
Streakers dog Donny was wrapped up in a towel to dry off and sat on a chair behind Streaker where he stayed until he dried off. Beers & Ciders in hand Smut started the circle. Jokes and Charges were called for. Screw took his charge for the run and then a welcome back drink for Shizza & Paw Paw.
To our surprise a Christening. Hard Drives mate Rhys became RAREBUTT. A cold beer to wet his head and a cold cider to down and he didn’t flinch a bit. Next weeks run & Executive lunch announced the Song sung, Fork brought out the Hash Nosh of curried sausages & rice which warmed us up. Next was special chocolate cakes supplied by Top Knot.
The rain became heavier so a few made the dash to their cars homeward bound. A few of us kept Flaps up a bit later until the rain eased. Thanks to Fork & Screw, Flaps & Top Knot for their extra efforts for the Committee run.
