What a deluge…what a flood…Rain, Hashers and St Paddy’s Day treats came together Monday night! Twenty seven (give or take) crowded into a double carport at the back of #4 Evans with rain lashing sideways from the south east. All hunkered down, discussing the distinct possibility of giving the ‘run’ a miss. Miraculously, (though Corgi knew it would happen) the rain let up (for a while) and the true blue Hashers set off on an envelope run. It was a long one! The wet rain jackets, umbrellas and T-shirts finally arrived at Tarzan’s traditional drink stop to indulge in some well-deserved Guinness, green ginger beer and ??? ‘piss in paper cups’ before high tailing it back to number 4, trying to miss the rivers and lakes spreading over the roads and footpaths as more rain fell.
Snacks were waiting in the carport along with the comfort lovers and some tasty Japanese snacks from Maniki Pussy returning with PF! Circle was called and lead by Screw. The run was judged to be shitty, multiple charges down-downed for calling people their birth names and for once, Zorro was forgotten despite his massive green hat! The Hare shared a report he wrote in 1997 about another St Paddy’s Run for that touch of Irish nostalgia. Tarzan’s Irish stew and potatoes with plenty of bread for mopping up the gravy was delish, while an Irish quiz and lollie/chocolate prizes with quiz master U-Turn signalled an approaching end to a windy, wet but great night. Oops!…can’t forget the green mint jelly and…what was in that box?
On, on all to Shoal Point, once again, next week.

Have a good week!
