Flaps greeted the eager hashers on his shiny red scooter, at the Assembly Area or the VIP area – VERY IMPORTANT PARKING area for Hashers. On on, with all the hashers, walking the streets, complete with beautiful front gardens of the Carlyle Gardens residents. So caught up in the scenery, and talking to the residents, several Harriettes and lone hasher Termite got so far behind, lost the trail and no other hashers in sight in any direction, deemed it time to go back to Flaps’ unit and wait for the other 16 or more to return.
All hashers home, fees paid, Melbourne Cup Sweeps on the go, nibbles of dips, crackers and chips to keep all hashers content. Monkee Shocker called for the circle, as the Monk is on holidays somewhere, and several Harriettes assembled the down down drinks for the charges. Charges and a good joke or two, the MH3 song, circled closed, and Sweeps to be drawn.
Nosh, of Chicken Drumsticks in two different sauces, with gourmet mashed potatoes or rice to choose from. No leftovers when Flaps is cooking, always a very nice meal to spoil the hashers, thank you Flaps.
Our winners for the Cup Sweeps were INSEX, BLO JO, SNOT, & last past the post KNICKA for the $5 sweep, and the $2 sweep winners were KNOT HEAD, GOLLY, KNICKA, with last past the post SNOT. I have no news on the Executive Lunch at the Shamrock…..no doubt a great day was had.
On On to our Away Run, this weekend, with dinner at your own expense at Magpies, on Friday night, table of 24 is booked for 6.30pm. Camping at Rowallan Park available from Friday night, courtesy bus for Magpies due at 6pm at the Camping Grounds to do 2 runs for us to the Club, and will return us hashers with one only run at 9.00pm.
