Another clear night with the full moon coming on Thursday. We weren’t going to be cold tonight Tarzan had two braziers ready to light and the first thing he said to me was that can you look after the fire tonight. Harbour had brought some extra wood too. Piccolo had the lighter in hand and started the kindling. Mrs Appeal got the second brazier to light first but the other wasn’t lighting up until Harbour reorganised the kindling. To our surprise H – Madame Curie had arrived from Bribie Island for the night. Smut & Maple Syrup were back from holidays. Tarzan called the pack out to the front with our envelopes to open for the run. They were from his run that got rained out a while ago. We could do with that drop of rain but it wasn’t working tonight. The Kooyong Hotel was tempting Zorro & Snot to visit again. We ventured down to St Vinnies turning right to wind through the streets past Piccolo’s place and around back to John Breen Park for a drink stop. The dogs in the neighbourhood were doing their jobs of letting their owners know us oldies were walking the streets. Blurry’s dogs were keeping up with their little legs but DD was making a choking sound all the way and even when we stopped at John Breen Park. That was normal for him Blurry said. Just excited.
Fork & Screw arrived late but looked after the fire for us.
We received a different nibbly tonight – fresh oysters to go with your dip. U-turn said she was cleaning out the freezer. Circle was called by Smut. Did you miss me he said and yes we did miss the history lessons or important facts but we can’t remember. Must be an age thing or brain cells diminishing. Charges were given and jokes were told. Executive lunch, Committee Meeting & Dining out announcements were reminded. Savoury Mince & Pasta was very tasty. Tarzans’s secret recipe with spices. Dessert was pavlova with delicious Strawberries, Kiwi fruit and whipped cream. Blurry gave his dogs a bone or two to chew on then DD was out like a light for the night. Poor Teddy was dragged from under the chairs when Snot went home. He wasn’t going any where near the fire to say good night. We all started heading home when Golly called last drinks.
Top effort and another enjoyable night.
