Run Date: 20 September 2021
Run No #2134
Hare: Lassie
Venue: 23 St Bees Avenue, Bucasia
Hashers: 23
23 hashers descended on the Bucasia Botanical Gardens, more commonly referred to as Lassie & Tonto’s joint. After milling around for a while, Tonto called our attention to a chalk arrow and said “off you go”. First stop was confusion at the corner of Bucasia Rd, until Corgi found an arrow and yelled OnOn….. Tonto then directed us down a dirt track beside a cow paddock, housing a bunch of newly bred weaners, who took offence at our presence and took of galloping hither and thither, causing a family of plovers to take to the sky in fright, which only served to stir the youngsters even more. 697 local dogs then joined in the fray, at which time the moo-cows chucked a u-ey, and bounded off back from whence they came. Meantime, we found our way into Royal Sands Estate, where we crept along, hoping the residents would not associate us with the cacophony of cows bellowing in the distance. Eventually we wandered back onto Buc Rd, and headed home, that is, until Tonto guided us down a side street towards the beach, where, in a darkened bus-stop, we found Lassie doling out a mixture from a bucket. Then, it really was on-home, where we found a bunch of short-cutters who missed the piss-stop.
Lassie produced several trays of nachos, which quickly disappeared, so the Monk called the circle to order. Down down for the hare for his stirling effort, and a birthday drink for Lassie. Tounger was charged for coming to Hash instead of taking his wife out on her birthday, which he quickly reversed as he was a chauvinist and wasn’t taking her anywhere! Eventually though, he succumbed and accepted his down down. Shocker also got a down down for accusing JCF of wearing a hat in the circle, which JCF informed him was acceptable since he was just outside of the circle. Shocker also got downed for being a new runner, well, we hadn’t seen him for a few months. There may have been other charges, but me forgets.
Wheelie-Bin seemed to greatly enjoy proceedings, with much noise and flapping of the arms.
Flaps and Prick both told jokes, and then we kinda run outta things to do. So, out came the club song and the circle shut.
Lassie joined Tonto in the kitchen, and before long out came steaming bowls of curried sausages and rice, which was gobbled down by the hungry hoard. Several more beers was downed, and then the mob slowly dispersed.
Below is directions to next weeks run, easy to find, don’t get lost!
